Of late, I've been part of a student team working on a carnival game called A Fistful of Duckies. The brainchild of my friend Jenn Johnson, the game aims to teach about loan repayment in a friendly way. Our team, Pocket Change Games, has been working on it since September of last year. I had to take a hiatus to work at my internship last semester, but I rejoined the team in January. A lot of art assets were needed to get the game from first playable to Beta, and I helped by designing environment layouts for the levels and drawing and painting a lot of things. We'll be finished by the end of April, and with some finagling, A Fistful of Duckies could be in app stores by.. sometime!
I drew and painted the characters of TV Robot, Pug-With-Pants, and Cauldron Witch. Jenn painted the environment and UI, and Jon Gardner did the ducks |
Two of our members are attending GDC and bringing our beta with them. Good luck, Anthony and Parker!
This is my last semester at DigiPen, and it's more than half-over. Fun times! Beyond graduating and the ongoing job search adventure, I have a few plans for the summer. I will continue working on my comic book, and I will also help build an online RPG community, Thorns: Emergence.
That's it for now. Have a good one!
